Google Announces $1B Data Center in Kansas City

Hunt Midwest
In a press conference on Wednesday, Google announced it will invest $1B into a new data center in the Northland.
Worth the Wait: Google has had its eye on Kansas City for years, but it wasn’t until this week that they will build a data center at the Hunt Midwest Business Center in Kansas City’s Northland. The joint press conference included Google officials, Mayor Quinton Lucas, and Missouri Governor Mike Parson.
That’s a Lot of Data: The $1B data center is estimated to create up to 1,300 jobs in the metro and will bring a $100,000 contribution to the North Kansas City School District STEAM center. Google plans to power the data center with 400 megawatts of solar energy from the Beavertail Solar farm in Missouri.
