Prime Time: 1587 Prime Officially Opens Today

1587 Prime

One of the most anticipated restaurant openings in Kansas City is finally here. 1587 Prime officially opens TODAY!

  • Prime Time: The contemporary steakhouse from Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce created in partnership with Noble 33 can be found at 1500 Baltimore Ave. inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel. The restaurant is receiving international attention, and Julie Jordan with People Magazine reports it lives up to the hype.

  • Birthday Bash: Although the official opening is today, Patrick Mahomes threw a early birthday bash at the restaurant with a star-studded guest list. Guests include Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift, NHL legend Wayne Gretzky, country music star Kane Brown, and more. My invite must have gotten lost in the mail…

If you’re looking for reservations, good luck. They are currently open through the end of November, with extremely limited availability.

Ding Dong Dogs Opens in South Plaza

KC Daily

Now, you don’t have to head to Kauffman Stadium to get a ballpark-style hot dog. Ding Dong Dogs is now open in the South Plaza neighborhood.

  • The Humble Hot Dog: Owner Matt McLain is bringing back a bite of ballpark nostalgia with a no-fuss, brick-and-mortar restaurant in the Colonial Shops near UMKC’s campus and Whole Foods in the South Plaza neighborhood. McLain uses local partners like Scimeca’s, Paradise Meat Locker, Roma Bakery, and Belfonte Dairy to craft a menu of gourmet hot dogs.

  • Campus Dogs: Ding Dong Dogs has partnered with the UMKC Board of Trustees, so it’s only fitting that they offer a hot dog called the ‘Roo Up Dog’, which is a jumbo dog topped with pulled pork, pickled red onion, sport peppers, and bbq mustard. They also offer ‘impossible dogs’ for a vegan alternative.

Ding Dong Dogs is located at 320 E 51st St. Order your next dog online HERE.
