Homes on Parade
KC Daily
You may not be surprised to hear that the housing market in Kansas City continues to boom, despite what your uncle who reads too many business articles says. In fact, in many parts of the city, the market for new homes is as hot as ever. The Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City Spring Parade of Homes is an annual event that showcases newly constructed homes throughout the Kansas City area.
The event features over 250 homes from a variety of builders, showcasing the latest trends in home design and construction.
Entrance is free for all homes April 29 through May 14. Homes open daily 11am to 6pm and you can download a map on their mobile app.
Visitors can tour the homes in person or view them online, and the event offers a great opportunity to connect with builders and learn about what upcoming new trends your DIY neighbor will try to get in on before you.

Bottoms Up!
Startland News
It’s been a long-held belief that the best place to be on First Friday’s is down in the West Bottoms thrifting for new antiques or grabbing a drink. With the new investment from the SomeraRoad Inc investment group, the area just west of downtown may just become the best place to be every other day of the week as well. Last Fall, the NY based investment group laid out their plan to turn the 26-acre plot into a metropolis of live-work-play areas that every Kansas City resident will be clamoring to get into.
Plans start with a 280 unit tear-down-rebuild of the classic West Bottoms building at 933 Mulberry St.
Also included: 9000 square feet of retail space with plenty of parking and greenery to make the area vibrant and cozy.
The City Government also plans to put a trio of gathering places in the area to bolster their position as the place to be on First Fridays.
