March Madness is underway here in the heartland! Here are 12 things to do around Kansas City this weekend (both basketball-related and not):
🛩️ Flying Ace: Take a flight with Snoopy and the Red Baron at Crown Center’s FREE exhibit, open now through May 4th!*
⛹️♀️ She Shoots, She Scores: The Big 12 WBB Championships continue all weekend at the T-Mobile Center. The action culminates with the championship game at 4 pm on Sunday.
🍾 Party On: Mosaic Nightclub & Lounge reopens tonight (3/7) to reveal its $2.5M renovation. Upgrades include a new sound system, enhanced atmospheric lighting, a luxury lounge + expanded VIP seating, and more!
🐉 The Sound of Dragons: The Kansas City Symphony presents How to Train Your Dragon™️ in Concert film + live orchestra. There are four shows scheduled throughout the weekend.
🎵 Kidz Jam: The Polsky Theater at the Midwest Trust Center at Johnson County Community College hosts MTC Kids Jam featuring Pierce Freelon on Saturday at 11 am. The event is free, but reservations are recommended.
🍩 Drink Your Donuts: Boulevard is hosting a pop-up on Sunday at 1 pm for the release of Brewhouse One – Coconut Pandan Doughnut Ale. The limited-edition beer was brewed in collaboration with local favorite Slow Rise Donuts.
🎻 Unheard Of: The Lyric Opera of Kansas City will host the first-ever mariachi opera entitled Cruzar la Cara de la Luna. There are three shows scheduled throughout the weekend.
🏀 D2 Dunks: The Big 12 isn’t the only basketball action this weekend. The 2025 men’s and women’s MIAA Basketball Championships are happening at Municipal Auditorium this weekend.
🥃 Sip & Shoot: Celebrate the basketball action in Kansas City at Hang Time at the Monogram Lounge, a spirited pop-up experience with J. Rieger & Co. and Charlie Hustle.
👩🍳 Women in Food: This Sunday from 4-7 pm, The Guild is hosting MUSE: A Soirée Celebrating Women in Food, Drinks & the Arts. The event was created by Rose Productions, and proceeds support Girls on the Run KC.
🎤 Hip Hop at Harrah’s: Local legend Tech N9ne will perform at VooDoo Lounge at Harrah’s Kansas City on Saturday at 8:30 pm.
☘️ St. Patty’s Parade: Downtown Overland Park will host its annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade this Saturday at 10 pm. The parade is rain or shine and takes off from 79th & Floyd St.

Miller Lite Fan Fest Takes Over KC Live! Through March 15th
It wouldn’t be March Madness in Kansas City without the Miller Lite Fan Fest taking over KC Live! in the Power & Light District!
Basketball Party: The annual celebration coincides with the Big 12 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships next door at the T-Mobile Center and lasts through Saturday, March 15th. This year, basketball fans can enjoy new additions inside P&L, like the recently renovated Mosaic, Besos y Abrazos, and The Yard Milkshake Bar.
Beyond Ball: In addition to the games being broadcast on Kansas City’s largest outdoor LED screen, there will be a full lineup of live performances. Capping off the Fan Fest is a free performance by DJ Diesel (Shaquille O’Neal) on Saturday, March 15th at 10 pm.
Each Big 12 team will have pep rallies along with fun contests and giveaways. Entry is FREE!
