Stockyards Brewing Co. Opens New Taproom This Week in Overland Park

Stockyards Brewing Co.

Stockyards Brewing Co. will open a new taproom this Friday, January 30, in Overland Park. We’ll cheers to that!

  • Drinkin’ Piggies: Stockyards is a locally-owned brewery and taproom based in the, you guessed it, Stockyards District in KCMO. It will now open its first Johnson County location in the former Piggly Wiggly building at 10310 Mastin St.

  • On Tap: Stockyards offers seasonal brews, IPA Rodeo Series brews, as well as classics like the Cerveza Royale and West Bottoms IPA. They also have a location inside the Kansas City International Airport for thirsty travelers.

According to our research, Stockyards will be just the third craft brewery within the Overland Park city limits, joining Discourse Brewing and Brew Lab.

Kit’s Diner to Open this March in the East Bottoms

Kit’s Diner, a new breakfast & lunch spot offering dine-in and takeout, is opening this March in the East Bottoms.

  • Eatin’ in the East Bottoms: Kit’s Diner will be opened by Tim Tuohy, who formerly ran Kansas City Canning Co. before its closing in 2024. He will now open a diner in the same space in the East Bottoms neighborhood (2801 Nicholson Ave.)

  • In Residency: In the meantime, Kit’s Diner is popping up inside the newly-opened West Plaza Bodega, which is working on starting their own sandwich program in the near future. Follow along HERE to stay in the loop of the pop-up schedule and menus.
