Fareway Meat Market Opens a New Space in Waldo

Fareway Meat Market is now open inside its new space in Waldo, just next door to its former building at 7921 Ward Parkway.

Meat Me at the Market: The 11,660-square-foot market opened its doors last week, a major expansion to the former space. The new building features a full-service butcher counter, a deli counter, fresh produce, specialty items, a wine & spirits section, and a variety of grocery essentials.
BBQ 2 Go: On the side of the building is a walk-up window and seating area, where customers can grab ready-to-order meals and BBQ. It’s called KC BBQ Kitchen & Catering, and offers Pitmaster Originals (burgers & sandwiches), hot entrees, side dishes, and deli salads.

We stopped by yesterday to check it out. (I wasn’t lying about walking out with two racks of ribs). Take a look inside!

The KC Symphony to Perform a Multisensory Experience on September 9th

The Kansas City Symphony returns from its European Tour to perform Prometheus on Wednesday, September 9th at Helzberg Hall.

Sights & Sounds: Prometheus is a one-night multisensory concert curated by music director Matthias Pintscher and production designer Luke Kritzeck, meant to evoke the synesthesia of the composer. The show will incorporate an innovative light show and other cutting-edge visual elements, alongside the extraordinary sounds of the orchestra.
Dazzling Experience: Curious about what to expect? The San Francisco Symphony performed Alexander Scriabin’s Prometheus: The Poem of Fire in 2024, which was described as a “dazzling success”. For one night only, Kansas City will get the chance to experience this musical journey!

Disney’s Newsies | September 8-13 | Starlight Theatre

Based on the popular film about charismatic newsboy Jack Kelly and the band of teenage “newsies” he led on a rebellion against mean old publisher Joseph Pulitzer—falling in love with the villain’s top reporter in the process—this family-friendly musical features a score by Tony ® Award-winning composer Alan Menken and a book by Broadway stalwart Harvey Fierstein.
