The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce has revealed its 2024 Top 10 Small Businesses. The top 10 were named from 60 candidates who applied, and they will now compete for the Mr. K Award, which is awarded to the Small Business of the Year. Here are the top 10 in alphabetical order:

The Parade of Homes Returns for the Spring Season

The Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City is set to host the 2024 Spring Parade of Homes beginning April 27th.
Homes on Parade: The Parade of Homes takes place twice a year (Spring + Fall) and showcases newly-built homes across the Kansas City metro. The event lasts for two weeks through May 12th.
Building a Legacy: The Parade serves as an opportunity for prospective buyers to tour homes at a variety of styles, needs, and prices. An impressive amount of homebuilders and communities are on display at each Parade.

We think Kansas City is the greatest city on Earth. And today we celebrate the planet that we call home! In honor of Earth Day 2024, here are some of our favorite green spaces across the metro:
Loose Park - Just south of the Country Club Plaza area, the extremely popular, 75-acre urban green space is KC’s equivalent of Central Park in NYC.
Swope Park - At over 1,800 acres, Swope Park is Kansas City’s largest park and one of the largest municipal parks in the United States.
Shawnee Mission Park - Shawnee Mission Park is the second-largest park in the metro at 1,600 acres. The most-visited park in the state of Kansas boasts a 120-acre lake, off-leash dog park, Marina, and much more.
Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park - This 50+ acre park in Lenexa offers packs plenty of activities for the whole family. The Legler Barn Museum, multiple playgrounds, a roller hockey rink, fishing, and more.
Kessler Park - Nestled on the cliffs just off the Missouri River in the historic Northeast, Kessler Park offers 300+ acres of trails, closed roads (Cliff Drive), and even a waterfall.

A Sourdough Doughnut Shop is Coming to the Metro
Slow Rise
An extremely popular sourdough doughnut shop is coming soon the the Kansas City metro.
Sweet & Sour: Jessica and Jeff Dunkel of De Soto, Kansas are the minds behind Slow Rise, a handcrafted filled sourdough doughnut pop-up. They started serving at the Lawrence farmers market with massive success, as fans would wait in line for hours for their sweet treats.
Coming Soon: Slow Rise will begin selling their doughnuts at the Overland Park Farmers’ Market beginning May 11th. They will set up shop every other weekend.
