‘KC’ Is French For Opportunity

La Madeleine

Happy Tuesday, Kansas City! La Madeliene, a French restaurant chain based out of Dallas, is coming to Kansas City.

  • Cheaper By The Dozen?: La Madeliene, which has over 80 locations nationwide, said recently that they were looking to add up to 8 new locations in the KC metro, starting with Overland Park.

  • It’s KWA-SAHNT!: What type of food would a French food chain serve? Probably what you’d expect- sandwiches like Croque Monsieur, soups like French onion, and all-day breakfast including quiche and croissant.

  • Welcome To God’s Country: The restaurant also has an in-house bakery that offers French treats all day as well. The chain has been working with a Kansas City-based franchise group, and if all goes well this will be La Madeliene’s first venture into the Midwest.

While no specifics on locations have been set, La Madeliene restaurants typically have around 4,000 square feet and employ around 30 people. The chain would like to be under contract in the metro in the coming months.

Keeping You In The Loop

The Loop KC

The Loop KC is a networking group for young professionals that seeks to create the friendships that are the foundation for future business.

  • Not Your Dad’s Networking Group: Founded 5 years ago by Emerson Hodes, he found that Kansas City was lacking any networking groups for young adults that weren’t “surface level.” Today, the group has over 150 members locally, and 500 total members across 4 cities.

  • In The Loop: The group hosts rotating monthly events such as happy hours, coffees, group panel discussions, and hosting speakers. Last month, the group brought in Slalom Consulting to discuss the future of AI.

  • No Freeloaders: A core tenant of the group is giving back to the community. Members are asked to serve at least once a quarter on a board or volunteering capacity.

The Loop KC’s next pursuits include expanding to more cities and hosting a business and music festival for loop members across the country. If you’re interested in joining, check out The Loop’s LinkedIn.
