Skyline changes are in store in Kansas City

Skyline Changes

DLR Group
Between the NFL Draft, the World Cup, and all the love from Ted Lasso, KC is getting quite the load of attention on the national scene. As the city has seemingly blossomed into the midwest’s darling over the last several years, developers are beginning to take notice. Lux Living, the St Louis-based developer, has proposed plans for adding a massive apartment building hotel hybrid right into the heart of downtown.
Skyline: Every KC-based Esty store owner is about to have to redo their inventory. This 30 story building is slated to be placed just north of the corner of 14th and Wyandotte.
Design: Following the same design style as KC’s One Light building, this modern beauty is sure to add some new era sophistication to the area.
Hotel: Initial drawings of the building include a 200 room boutique hotel featuring a rooftop bar and pool, hotel ballrooms, and even an indoor basketball court.
Development is set to begin starting in January 2024 and finish just in time for the World Cup in 2026.

Death Cleaning is Giving Life
Peacock
The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning is an inspirational self improvement show, narrated by Amy Poehler, that was recently released for streaming on Peacock. I’m sure you’re probably asking the same question as we were- what in the world is Amy Poehler doing narrating such a hard core show?! For clarity this show is about cleaning, not death. Despite the dark name, this show features an organizer, a designer, and a psychologist all from Sweden and is all about embracing Swedish simplicity to help Midwesterners “deal with their crap so that when you die, others don’t have to for you.”
Set in Kansas City, this show does more than just cleaning as the Midwesterners chosen for help also get to deal with their unique challenges and the strange attachment we can have with our possessions.
Amy Poehler: Even though she does not make an appearance, you can still hear Poehler adding her classic hysterical quips and sentimental touches in every episode.
Streaming now: All 8 episodes are streaming now on Peacock, so grab some meatballs and get ready to fight the urge to purge your whole home of those boxes your mom gave you when you moved out.

Cirque in the City

Cirque Du Soliel
If you’re looking for something truly unique to take the whole family to, we may have just the thing for you. Cirque Du Soleil: Corteo is coming to KC this month for 5 local performances. Maybe you’ve heard of, or even seen Cirque Du Soleil before, but you won’t want to miss this reimagined performance of Corteo.
The Show: Corteo, which means “cortege” in Italian, is a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown. Following the passing of Mauro the clown, instead of mourning, the cast joins together for a celebration of the here and now.
What to Expect: This 5 show event will take place at the T-Mobile Center and feature over 2 hours of the daring acrobatics and moving story telling we’ve come to expect of the Cirque.
Tickets: Tickets are on sale now and start at $67 each. Why not skip watching the Greatest Showman again, and actually go see the real thing.

Big win for little tech: After being founded in 2018 by John Boucard, this new bid will bring in nearly $1.25M to the company.
What is it?: At Space Launch Delta 45 at Patrick Space Force Base in Florida, Tesseract will further develop its core service to create a holistic 3D picture of operations at the future launch site.
Disruptive impact in their industry, groundbreaking technology, and a sweet logo? The sky may be just the beginning for this startup.
