KC Named A World-Class Travel Destination

Carlos Moreno
Happy Monday, Kansas City! Travel + Leisure recently named Kansas City as one of the top 50 best places to visit in 2024.
Top 50: Each year, Travel + Leisure, a staple in the travel industry, releases its top 50 list of places that its staff and writers want to visit themselves.
Down By The River: Kansas City made the list, thanks in no small part to the developments taking place along the river. The article highlighted CPKC Stadium, the Origin Hotel, and the Berkley Beer Garden.
Rocking Along: Another factor leading to KC’s strong showing is the development of the Rock Island Bridge. The entertainment district which is built on a bridge that spans the Kansas River is touted as the first of its kind.
This marks the second time Kansas City has made a travel destination list for next year within the last several months. One thing is for sure, by the end of 2024, KC will be known for more than just the Chiefs and Travis and Taylor.

KCI’s Small But Important Improvements

KC Daily
The Wall Street Journal recently included KCI on its annual best and worst of US airports list.
The Scale: Each year, the Wall Street Journal ranks the best and worst airports from across the country based on criteria like average arrival delay, on-time departure, and nonstop destinations, eventually dividing them into categories by size.
Lucky 13: As anticipated, KCI did have a slight jump thanks to the recent upgrades, but the airport still ranked somewhere near the middle at 13th of 30 for midsize US airports.
Small But Mighty Punctual: While the airport was helped by factors like average arrival delay(59 mins 45 secs) and on-time departure(78.98%), its ranking was hampered by factors like average domestic fare ($408) and nonstop destinations(45).
Perhaps things may look different this time next year as KCI continues to add non-stop destinations and its terminal continues to garner more investments from airlines like Southwest.
