Midwest Living Named Akoya Omakase One of the Best in the Midwest
Midwest Living spotlighted Kansas City’s Akoya Omakase as one of the best omakase restaurants in the Midwest.
Midwest Surprise: Midwest Living named 10 of the best spots to experience the Japanese style of dining in the Midwest. The recognition for Akoya is a well-earned nod to the intimate downtown KC sushi counter located inside the historic Hotel Phillips at 106 W. 12th St.
Fresh Fish: Akoya offers just ten seats at the sushi counter, where Chef Peter Hoang and a team devote themselves entirely to the omakase experience. Pro tip: the lunch special is one of our favorite deals in town: one roll, five pieces of nigiri, gomae salad, and miso soup for just $18.

Atlas9 celebrates its first anniversary with A9iversary, a two-night event on October 1-2, which includes a free movie under the stars.
One Year in the Reel World: On night one (October 1), the curtain comes down and the makers come out. Tickets are $9 — free for Annual Passholders.
Movie Night: Atlas9's first-ever Movie Under the Stars is happening on October 2nd with a screening of Back to the Future, projected larger than life on the side of the building starting at 7:30pm. The movie will be accompanied by live performances from Quixotic aerialists and dancers beforehand. The event is free, but space is limited.
Atlas9 is located at 1100 N. 98th St. in KCK. We’re still trying to figure out what happened to Frank…
