It’s not officially summer (see you on June 20th), but the warm weather has us ready to explore our city! Here are some things going on this weekend:

• 🎡 See You in Shawnee: Old Shawnee Days takes over Shawnee Town 1929 all weekend to kick off summer. The FREE event offers a carnival, live music, concessions, and vendors!

• 🐒 Party Animals: It’s a BIG weekend at the Kansas City Zoo. In addition to Jazzoo tonight, it’s celebrating World Oceans Weekend this Saturday & Sunday.

• 🤠 Humble and Kind: Country music superstar Tim McGraw is performing at the T-Mobile Center tomorrow night at 7 pm with special guest Carly Pearce.

• 👠 It’s Called Fashion: The 24th annual West 18th Street Fashion Show will showcase nine independent designers tomorrow evening beginning at dusk in the Crossroads.

• 🎠 To the Summit: We’ve got summer kick-offs in Missouri too! Lee’s Summit is hosting Downtown Days 2024 to kick off summer with entertainment, carnival rides, a sports zone, food & drink, and more!

• ✨ Under the Stars: Starlight Theatre is hosting two great shows this weekend: Tom Segura brings his comedy tour tonight, and Sarah McLachlan in concert on Sunday night.

• 🎭 The Next Generation: The Kauffman Center is hosting the Future Stages Festival on Sunday from 12-5 pm. The family-friendly event spotlights hundreds of area youth performers.

• 🧘‍♂️ Forever and Ever: Country music hall of famer Randy Travis brings his More Life Tour to the Folly Theatre on Saturday at 7:30 pm.

• 🖼️ Weekend #1: It’s the first weekend in June, so you know what that means…First Fridays! Head to the Crossroads tonight for a variety of gallery openings, vendors, and performances.

• 🥗 Grand Reopening: Waldo eatery Hemma Hemma is celebrating its grand reopening TODAY after a remodel to offer counter service.

A Local Skin Care Company Opens Second Retail Location

Locally-owned Skin KC has officially opened a second metro location in downtown Overland Park.

• Know Your Skin: Since 2009, owner Stephanie Simkins has operated Skin KC. Her passions for clean living and holistic health inspired her to launch a line of safe and environmentally friendly skincare products for both men and women.

• Crossing State Lines: Skin KC has had a retail shop in Brookside for over six years, but now is expanding operations across State Line. The newest location in downtown Overland Park opened for business last weekend.

Support local businesses and visit Skin KC this weekend at 7304 W. 80th St. in Overland Park.
