Le Champion Opens This Weekend In Westport

Le Champion, a vintage sports-themed coffee shop/wine lounge/eatery from Chef Amante Domingo opens this weekend in Westport.

• Day & Night: Domingo has built quite the reputation in the Kansas City dining scene, being the force behind The Russell and Noka. He will now open Le Champion in the former Ça Va space in Westport, a coffee shop by day, and full-service eatery and bar by night.

• Champs Hang Here: The daytime menu will feature specialty coffee from neighbor Broadway Roasting Company, as well as pastries and breakfast items. Although not a full-service restaurant, the food menu will feature shared plates like deviled eggs royale, Caesar salad croquettes, and smoked salmon. Drinks will inlcude Champagne, wine, cocktails, and frozen rosé.

Le Champion is set to open this Saturday, June 21st at 4149 Pennsylvania Ave.

Summer Movies in the Park Kicks Off This Saturday at Zona Rosa

Kick off the summer season under the stars at Zona Rosa with Summer Movies in the Park!

• Movie Nights: Grab a blanket or lawn chair and head to North Park (green space south of Dillard’s) this Saturday (6/21) night for a showing of Moana 2 (2024).

• Summer Flicks: The monthly event will return in July with a showing of Coco (2017) on July 19th. All movies are free and open to all ages, so grab your family for dinner and a movie at Zona Rosa!

Movies start when it gets dark, between 8:45-9pm.

Playstation: The Concert to Take the Stage in Kansas City

If you like gaming, and you like music, this story is for you. Playstation: The Concert will stop in Kansas City this fall.

• Sounds from the Screen: Playstation: The Concert is a cutting-edge live music event that pairs music from some of Playstation’s most iconic games with state-of-the-art visual technology. The concert will happen on Thursday, October 30th at 7:30pm at the Muriel Kauffman Theatre.

• Game On: You can expect music from games like The Last of Us, God of War, Ghost of Tsuishima, and Horizon. The concert uses LED and projection technologies, and will feature an ensemble of classical and modern instruments. Check out this preview of the U.S. tour to see what’s in store.
