Which Nations Will Play in Kansas City During the 2026 World Cup?

Kansas City Sports Commission

On Saturday, the match schedule for the 2026 FIFA World Cup was released, and we learned which nations will be playing in Kansas City.

Kansas City Stadium, AKA Arrowhead Stadium, will host four group stage matches, followed by a round of 32 match on July 3 and a quarterfinal match on July 11. Here are the group stage matchups in Kansas City:

🇦🇷 Argentina vs. 🇩🇿 Algeria

  • June 16 | 8pm CST

🇪🇨 Ecuador vs. 🇨🇼 Curaçao

  • June 20 | 7pm CST

🇹🇳 Tunisia vs. 🇳🇱 Netherlands

  • June 25 | 6pm CST

🇩🇿 Algeria vs. 🇦🇹 Austria

  • June 27 | 9pm CST

The biggest news here is Argentina playing in Kansas City. Not only were they crowned the champions of the 2022 World Cup, but they also boast one of the best players in the history of the sport: Lionel Messi. To make it even more interesting, there is a small chance they could face Portugal in the quarterfinal matchup in Kansas City on July 11, bringing a matchup with another legend of the game: Cristiano Ronaldo.
