An Update on the South Loop Project
OJB Landscape Architecture
There are a lot of projects in the metro that have goals of being completed by 2026 when the World Cup comes to Kansas City. One of the most exciting is the South Loop Project.
Just a Phase: As the city of KCMO is still working to secure funding for the $217 million project, it’s unlikely that the project will be completed in its entirety by 2026. Mayor Quinton Lucas stated that the project will probably be completed “block by block”.
Show Me the Money: City officials are looking to execute terms to allow the $57.2 million in approved funds to be deployed for the project. At this point, around $100 million has been allocated to the project.
The South Loop project is expected to break ground in the spring of 2025.

Football Season: The Goats kick off the season on Saturday, June 1st, as they host the Duluth Harbor Monsters. Games will be played at Municipal Auditorium in downtown KCMO.
