The Big 12 Tournaments Commit to Kansas City

Big 12 Conference

All the college basketball hype that is currently filling the city hasn’t gone unnoticed. The Big 12 Conference announced yesterday that they are committed to keeping the men’s and women’s basketball championships in Kansas City through 2031.

  • KC 🤝 Big 12: Kansas City has maintained a strong connection to Big 12 Basketball, with the men’s tournament calling the T-Mobile Center home since 2010, and the women’s tournament being played at Municipal Auditorium since 2020 (now also held at T-Mobile).

  • New Faces, Same Places: Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark was proud to make the announcement at a press conference yesterday surrounded by Kansas City officials. Even with Texas and Oklahoma departing the conference for the SEC, Yormark doubled down on his support of the tournaments staying in KC.

With the addition of 4 new schools added to the Big 12 this season, and 4 more next season, this is a great opportunity to showcase our city to thousands of new fans each year!

Snake Saturday Slides Into NKC This Weekend

KC Daily

One of the region’s largest Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations is taking place this Saturday in North Kansas City.

  • 40 Years of Green: This year’s Snake Saturday is the 40th anniversary of the event that brings thousands to NKC each year. This year’s event brings fun for the whole family, including a carnival, car show, concessions, and of course, the Snake Saturday Parade kicking off at 11 AM.

  • A Safe Environment: With thousands descending into the area for the celebration, parade organizers have implemented additional security measures for this year’s event. This comes as a result of the tragedy that took place less than one month ago during the Chiefs Championship parade at Union Station.

For more information on the Snake Saturday Parade and celebration, check out their Facebook page.
