KC Wheel to Host Fundraising Event for Special Olympics Kansas

The KC Wheel will light up red this weekend and host a fundraiser for Special Olympics Kansas.

  • Spinning on Red: The two-day event will take place Friday & Saturday (Aug. 9-10) at Pennway Point. In addition to taking in some of the best views in Kansas City, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the impactful work of Special Olympics Kansas.

  • Compete for Good: Special Olympics Kansas exists to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Representatives will be on hand from 2-4 each day to share more about their mission.

A Brand New Kinder Cafe is Coming to Brookside

Humanette

Kansas City’s premier kinder cafe, Humanette, is celebrating its ribbon cutting today in Brookside.

  • For Kids & Parents: Humanette was started by Jamie Hickey and Claire Markus, who wanted to launch a family-centric cafe and hybrid work/play space. Parents can work stress-free while their children explore the supervised play area.

  • Kick Off the Fun: The ribbon cutting and open house will take place today at 4 pm with tours of the space. The grand opening of the cafe at 118 W. 63rd Street is Friday at 8 am.

JINGLE! Brings the Christmas Spirit to Kansas City this Holiday Season

It’s never too early to start preparing for Christmas! JINGLE! is bringing the Christmas Spirit to Legends Field this holiday season.

  • All the Way: JINGLE! is a multi-sensory experience that will take over Legends Field in KCK starting November 22nd through New Year’s Eve. The event is in collaboration with Enchant Christmas, which took place last year at Legends Field.

  • Holiday Heaven: The event will feature a Winter Wonderland Light Maze, a 10-lane snow tubing hill, an ice-skating trail, an Artisan Village, food trucks, pop-up bars, and much more! JINGLE! will also host events in St. Louis and Springfield.

Tickets to JINGLE! go on sale on August 23rd.
