A Food Truck Featured on Shark Tank Rolls Into Kansas City

Cousins Maine Lobster
Cousins Maine Lobster, which was featured on NBC’s Shark Tank, is bringing a permanent food truck to Kansas City.
Lobster on Wheels: Since launching in 2012, Cousins Maine Lobster has become one of the most well-known food truck franchises in the country. After being backed by investor Barbara Corcoran on Shark Tank, they’ve been featured on CNBC, Good Morning America, Food and Wine, and more!
No Ocean, No Problem: The truck will serve a simple menu: lobster rolls, a bisque/chowder, and a kids’ meal. They have a soft opening planned for July 19 at Pathlight Brewing in Shawnee and a grand opening scheduled for July 20 at Cinder Block Brewery in NKC.

Port KC Approves Deal for New Plaza Apartments

As the sale of the Country Club Plaza to HP Village Partners LP is set to close this Friday, developers are already jumping on the opportunity to develop the area.
Port to Plaza: Port KC has approved $362 million in bonds for two apartments at the intersection of Madison Ave. and 47th St, which is currently a vacant corner. The project will also rehab the Plaza Corporate Center across the street.
Seeing Double: The first project is The Madison (pictured above), a 279-unit apartment building that would be built on the vacant corner. The second includes the renovation of the 1970s-era Plaza Corporate Center as well as a new building just to the north.
Developers plan to begin construction in 2025.

Community: To celebrate the launch of Local by Loews, the hotel has partnered with Sweat Forum to offer guests total body workouts directly at the hotel.
Craft: The hotel has also launched Free Spirited, which offers craft libations focusing on locally sourced ingredients without alcohol. The menu in Kansas City consists of a Cucumber Crush (no ABV) and a Ruby Berry Spritz (Low ABV).

When the sun goes down, we go to Arrowhead. Country music star Kenny Chesney is making a stop in Kansas City on July 6th.
Sweet Summertime: Chesney brings his Sun Goes Down Tour to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium next Saturday night. Even at 56 years old, he’s selling out stadiums and bringing the party with him wherever he goes!
Can’t We All Get Along?: With 33 chart-topping songs, it’s no surprise that Chesney is one of the hottest tours this summer. His sold-out concert in Philadelphia earlier this month brought in 56,292 fans. Can KC beat Philly again?
