Happy Friday! Here’s our picks for things going on around KC this weekend:
💐 Opening Party: Blair & Blythe is celebrating its grand opening on Saturday from 10-2! The elevated home decor and design store is located at 4812 Rainbow Blvd in Westwood.
🤭 Pickle & Giggle: Chicken N Pickle in NKC is hosting Laughs & Lobs tonight at 6, featuring a live show from local comedian Jake Triplett of Friday Pickleball.
🎻 Jazz Fest: The Midwest Trust Center at Johnson County Community College will host the two-day Winterlude Jazz Festival this Saturday and Sunday in Yardley Hall and Polsky Theatre.
⚾️ Free History: Visit the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum for FREE! Admission is free for the entire month of February in honor of Black History Month, made possible by the Kansas City Royals Foundation.
🚤 Boats & Shows: The Overland Park Boat Show takes place all weekend long at the Overland Park Convention Center. The area’s largest recreational boat show is expanded to TWO levels of a boater’s paradise!
🎷 Live Jazz: Head to the Blue Room at the American Jazz Museum tonight at 5 pm for their Free Indigo Hour, featuring music from the Darron J & Go Hard Band.
🙈 Mating Rituals: The Kansas City Zoo is hosting Kiss & Tail, an adults-only night of animal comedy on Saturday night. There will be two shows (6 & 8:30) and free Russell Stover chocolates to take home!
🏐 Bump, Set, Spike: Head to Municipal Auditorium in downtown Kansas City for the LOVB Classic featuring all six LOVB professional volleyball teams in the mid-season tournament.
🌸 Classic on Stage: Music Theater Heritage presents Little Women at the Main Stage at Crown Center. The showings kicked off last night and last through March 2nd.
🂡 UNO!: Vine Street Brewing Co. is hosting an Uno Tournament on Sunday at 2 pm. The event is fun for all ages (kids need an adult present), and each round will create a different challenge.
💘 Undie Lovin’: Cupid’s Undie Run, a mile(ish) run in your underwear raising money for the Children’s Tumor Foundation, takes off from McFadden’s Sports Saloon on Saturday at 2 pm.
🤨 That’s Odd: The World Oddities Expo is taking place at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center on Saturday from 11-7. The event is packed with peculiar pleasures from artists and small businesses.
