Happy Solar Eclipse Day!

Grab your eclipse glasses and look to the sky! Today is the day of the total solar eclipse that will span across the contiguous United States.

  • Showtime in KC: Although not in the path of totality, the Kansas City metro will experience an 89% solar eclipse this afternoon. The eclipse will begin at 12:37 PM and end at 3:11 PM. The maximum partial eclipse will happen at 1:54 PM. 

  • Look to the Sky: Don’t miss this natural phenomenon, as this will be the last total solar eclipse visible in the U.S. until 2044. But don’t forget to grab solar eclipse glasses to ensure the safety of your eyes!

A Taylor Swift Pop-Up Bar is Coming to NKC

Even with the football season in the rear-view mirror, Taylor Swift is still stealing the spotlight in Kansas City. This time, she’s the theme of a pop-up bar in North Kansas City.

  • Lover of Cocktails: Vignettes Bar will be honoring Swift by hosting “The Tortured Pop-Up Department” From May 3 to July 6. The name comes from her highly-anticipated upcoming album that will drop on April 19th.

  • Cruel Summer Hotspot: Owners Ed Schmalz and Maggie Boone are big Swifties and will incorporate Taylor themes into all aspects of the bar. Karaoke, trivia, music bingo, and live performances are all planned for the pop-up.
