Netflix Documentary “Quarterback” featuring Mahomes Drops Today

Today, Netflix finally releases its much-anticipated documentary series “Quarterback” featuring stars from the NFL. The real treat for Chiefs fans is that they followed Patrick Mahomes all the way through his Super Bowl run in 2022, and will get a glimpse into his personal life.

• Winning Recipe: Netflix seems to have found something with its new series of documentaries following professional athletes in their day-to-day lives. The success first became apparent with the hit shows Drive to Survive about Formula 1 racing and Full Swing which followed PGA golfers.

• Season of a Lifetime: Netflix seems to have nailed this one by following Patrick Mahomes, alongside two other NFL quarterbacks, into the huddle throughout the whole season which culminated in a Chiefs Super Bowl win.

• On And Off The Field: A special aspect of the documentary is that the quarterbacks selected, Marcus Mariota, Kirk Cousins, and Patrick Mahomes all gave insights into their lives off the field as well, learning to balance being a husband and father alongside leading their NFL teams.

The Netflix series premiered at 2 am this morning, and if you’ve been avoiding getting your Netflix back after they cut you off from your cousin’s friend’s account, you may want to get back on it.

The Paleta Bar opened just a few months ago and has made a name for itself serving delicious Mexican ice pops in downtown Overland Park.

• Paletas: For those unfamiliar, Paletas are a Mexican frozen treat made from fresh natural fruits such as strawberry and mango or made from rich creamy ingredients such as Chocolate or Sicilian pistachio.

• Downtown OP: The Paleta Bar, which opened this spring, is just one of the many new establishments looking to plant roots in Downtown OP. Lulu Thai Noodle, Tiki Taco, and Vintage ‘78 Bar have all opened or are planning to open in the area.

You can visit The Paleta Bar off Metcalf and 80th Street in Downtown Overland Park daily from 11 am to 9 pm on weekdays and 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Historic Downtown Living

The Cordish Co., the architecture firm responsible for much of the Power and Light district, announced that construction has begun to turn the historic Midland Office Building into the Midland Lofts.

• Midland Lofts: The Midland Lofts will be a 135-unit apartment complex in the heart of P&L offering 1-bedroom apartments made from the reinvented Midland Office Building, maintaining much of the historic elements in the architecture that made the building special.

• Affordable Housing?: Perhaps the best part about this project is the target price tag with Cordish offering downtown living for under $1,000 per apartment.

• Amenities: On its website, you can see renderings of the amenities planned from a state-of-the-art fitness center, to two separate lounges residents can use for hosting guests just steps from Power and Light.
