The Women’s Cup Kicks Off TONIGHT at CPKC Stadium

Wake up, Kansas City! Today is a special match day! The inaugural Women’s Cup kicks off tonight at CPKC Stadium.

• Four on the Field: The Women’s Cup will feature four teams from four different continents competing for The Women’s Cup trophy. Tonight’s action features Atlètico de Madrid (Spain) vs. INAC Kobe Leonessa (Japan) at 5 pm, and KC Current vs. Mamelodi Sundowns FC (South Africa) at 8 pm.

• Long Weekend in KC: The winners of the two matches tonight will face off on Saturday (8/17) at 8 pm, with the consolation match taking place beforehand at 5 pm. Tickets are good for entry into both matches of the doubleheader both today and on Saturday.

World’s Largest Steam Locomotive to Stop in Kansas City This Fall

Choo Choo! Union Pacific’s ‘Big Boy’ No. 4014 will make a stop in Kansas City this October 15-17.

• Steam On: The train will stop through Union Station as a part of the eight-week “Heartland of America” tour. The stop will give train-lovers a chance to view the only steam locomotive built during WWII that’s still in operation.

• Running on Schedule: ‘Big Boy’ is expected to arrive at Union Station at 6:45 pm on Tuesday, October 15th. The train will be available for viewing all day on the 16th before departing for Salina, KS at 9 am on the 17th.

West Side Story Takes the Stage at Starlight Next Week

The fan-favorite production West Side Story takes the stage at Starlight Theatre starting next Tuesday (8/20).

• Musical Drama: West Side Story tells the story of ‘two young, idealistic lovers who find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the "American" Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks.’
