Development

Developers Pitch New Development at Former Indian Springs Mall Site

Midtown Station

Last week, developers pitched a massive development at the former Indian Springs Mall site in Kansas City, Kansas.

  • New Life: Eastside Innovation Kansas, LLC has dubbed the project Midtown Station, a mixed-used development featuring 1,500 residences, 200,000 square feet of commercial space, a hotel, green spaces, and more. The 90 acre site would be a dense, walkable community with easy access to public transit.

  • Out of Business: The Indian Springs Mall opened in 1971 at the intersection of I-635 and I-70. The last anchor store left in 2001, and the site sat vacant until 2007, when the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas acquired the mall for $8.4 million.

The project is expected to break ground in the summer of 2025.
