🎪 Big Slick Show - KC's star-studded annual fundraiser for Children's Mercy returns for year 17. Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, Rob Riggle, Eric Stonestreet, David Koechner, and Heidi Gardner host a roster of celebrity guests for a night of comedy, music, and chaos at T-Mobile Center.

🪕 KC Folk Fest - Kansas City's free all-day folk festival takes over Washington Square Park near Crown Center with four stages of folk, Americana, bluegrass, blues, R&B, and hip hop, plus food trucks and a full craft market. 11am–7pm.

🐾 Paw It Forward at Warners' Stellian - Meet foster pets, get pet caricatures, and help stock the KC Pet Project shelter at this free community event at Warners’ Stellian in Leawood. First 50 guests get a goody bag! 11am–1pm.

⚽️ Current vs. Legacy - The KC Current welcome the Boston Legacy to CPKC Stadium at 12:30pm. This is the Current’s final regular-season home game until July 17th.

Two Kansas City Fast Casual Restaurants Named Top 100 Movers & Shakers

Hawaiian Bros

Two Kansas City-based fast casual restaurants have been named on the 2026 Fast Casual Top 100 Movers & Shakers.

  • Local Love: Hawaiian Bros Island Grill came in at No. 18, which launched in Kansas City in 2018 and has since grown to 79 locations nationwide. Tiki Taco came in at No. 72, with five metro locations currently operating and five more coming soon.

  • Best and Tastiest: The annual award celebrates brands and leaders who are redefining the fast casual restaurant market and “refused to settle for the status quo”. It includes national brands like Chipotle, Dave’s Hot Chicken, and Cava, which ranked No. 1 on the list.
