A New Chapter for Waldo Thai

Don’t worry, it’s a good new chapter! Waldo Thai,one of Kansas City’s favorite Thai restaurants, is transitioning into a small plate concept.

• Wednesday 👉 Everyday: After the overwhelming popularity of Small Plate Wednesdays since its launch in 2020, Waldo Thai will now transition to a menu that focuses on small plates with bi-weekly changes. Not to worry, a few favorite dishes will stay on the menu!

• Small, but Mighty: This change to smaller and more affordable plates will encourage exploration and variety of the dynamic northern Thai cuisine. Plates include Duck Spring Rolls, Sai-Ua Rangoons, Summer Corn Soup, and more.

The small plate menu (subject to change) is live now and the dining room opens at 4:30 Monday through Saturday. They are also open for lunch on Fridays & Saturdays from 11 am to 2:30 pm.

Sporting KC Players to Launch Kansas City’s First Padel Club

Six current and former Sporting KC players are turning a mutual hobby into a business. They are launching La Casa del Padel, Kansas City’s first padel club.

• It’s Pronounced How?: Padel is considered one of the most popular sports in the country of Spain, and the world’s fastest-growing racket sport. Padel is played on a small, rectangular court surrounded by glass walls and is considered a cross between tennis and squash.

• Pitch to Padel: Teammates Johnny Russell, Graham Zusi, Andreu Fontas, Daniel Salloi, Roger Espinoza, and Uri Rosell found a mutual love of padel and are now bringing the sport to Kansas City. They’ve teamed up with Rosanna Maffei and Kim Bastable to build the first Padel club in KC.

La Casa del Padel will be located at 6800 West 91st Street in Overland Park within the Overland Park Racquet Club.

Unforked in Overland Park Reopens After Fire

After a fire damaged the building in December of 2022, Sheridan’s Unforked has finally reopened in Overland Park!

• Worth the Wait: Although the dining room remains closed for a few more weeks, the drive-thru is now open at Unforked in Overland Park. This joins the other two Unforked locations in the metro (Westwood, Crown Center) as well as two remaining Sheridan’s Frozen Custard locations (Crown Center, Barry Road).

• No Fork, No Problem - Unforked’s Menu is filled with delicious variety, including tacos, sandwiches, salads, bowls, and concretes using Sheridan’s custard. Unforked was launched by founder Jim Sheridan in 2011.

Unforked Overland Park is located at 7337 W. 119th St. and the drive-thru is open daily from 11 am to 9 pm.
