New Ice Cream Parlor Will Float Your Boat

Fountain City Scoops and Floats

Fountain City Scoops and Floats, whose owner also owns KC Soda Co next door, is a new ice cream parlor in the City Market that specializes in floats.

  • Soda Meet Ice Cream: Five years after opening KC Soda Co, owner Lucas Thompson decided to pitch the idea of an ice cream float place to City Market after seeing the success of pairing Mass Street Soda and Sylas and Maddy’s in Lawrence.

  • Not Your Usual Floats: The shop offers a variety of ice cream flavors and soda bases, as well as more than 25 toppings. Customers can create their own floats or choose from a preset menu of specialty floats like Pina Colada or the Boyscout.

  • Happy Wallets: With prices below $5 where a single-scoop float is $3.89 and a double will run you $4.89, Fountain City Scoops and Floats will make the perfect affordable treat after dinner or on a hot day at the farmers market.

Visit Fountain City Scoops and Floats at 419 Main St. in the City Market Tuesday through Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.
