WIRED Celebrates 10 Years, $16M in Women-Led KC Real Estate Projects

As Kansas City's Women in Real Estate Development (WIRED) approaches its 10-year anniversary, the mentoring group and investment club is celebrating four major commercial real estate projects totaling over $16 million.
Women Make History: Most recently, 25 WIRED members have raised over $1 million to redevelop the former TWA Breech Academy dormitory at 6330 Lamar, a 50,000-square-foot building where thousands of women once trained for careers offering rare freedom and financial independence starting in 1969. Today, it's being transformed into a modern, natural light-filled office environment.
A Decade of Growth: Since 2016, WIRED has completed or launched four projects: a West Plaza redevelopment (sold December 2025), Curated: Health & Wellness Hub in Prairie Village (final 4 spaces leasing), Columbus Park Townhomes & Apartments (completed November 2025), and the TWA Breech Academy redevelopment. Project size has grown 451% in seven years, from $950,000 to $3.5 million, with investors contributing as little as $2,000 to enter deals.

On Ice Multiple performances run Thursday through Sunday with showtimes at 7pm (Thursday), 10:30am & 6:30pm (Friday), 10am, 2pm & 6pm (Saturday), and 10am & 2pm (Sunday).
