Next Stop: Riverfront. The KC Streetcar Riverfront Extension Opens Today!

The KC Streetcar Riverfront Extension officially opens today at 11am, completing a 0.7-mile extension that connects the full 6.5-mile route from UMKC all the way to Berkley Riverfront Park.
Grand Opening Day: The ribbon-cutting ceremony kicks off at 11am at the Riverfront Streetcar Stop in Berkley Riverfront Park, with full passenger service beginning immediately after. From noon to 2pm, a free community picnic follows with live music from DJ Ness and The Royal Chief, yard games, circus performer Jason D'Vaude, and a lineup of local food trucks including Betty Rae's Ice Cream, Swifts Cajun Cuisine, Taste of Brazil, Taco Naco, The Good Part, and KC Hot Dog King.
City Riders: The $62 million extension adds a direct streetcar connection to the Riverfront — linking UMKC, the Plaza, Midtown, Union Station, the Crossroads, Power & Light, the River Market, and now Berkley Riverfront Park in one continuous free route. With the World Cup just weeks away, the timing couldn't be better for KC's growing transit network.

Providence Pizza is Coming to Current Landing This Summer
Providence Pizza
Providence Pizza, one of Kansas City’s favorite East Coast-style pizzerias, will open at Current Landing this summer.
Pies Landing Here: Providence Pizza will bring 14 years of experience and its award-winning pizza to one of Kansas City’s most anticipated new developments along the river. Owner Aaron Salvatore said a KC Current match at CPKC Stadium sealed the deal with its electric, family-friendly atmosphere and was a statement of what the riverfront could become.
Dinner on the River: The menu spans New York, Detroit, and Sicilian styles by the pie or the slice, with signature pies like the Wicked Rita (Sicilian, spicy vodka sauce, burrata, fresh basil) and the East Coast (sausage, bacon, mushrooms, ricotta, house-made hot honey), plus wings, garlic knots, and cannolis. The riverfront location will also debut exclusive new menu items to be announced on social media ahead of opening.
An exact opening date is TBD, but it will be this summer.
