Sea Capitán Cocina Costera Now Open in South Plaza
This past weekend, the highly anticipated Sea Capitán Cocina Costera opened its doors in the South Plaza neighborhood
Oh Captain: Sea Capitán is the sister concept of local favorites Earl’s Premier and Bacaro Primo, and is located at 5070 Main St. The space was formerly Blu Hwy, which closed in September of 2024, and has been renovated into a breezy, coastal dining area.
Coast to Coast: The menu at Sea Capitán features dishes with “coastal Mexican flare”, offering oysters on the half shell, ceviche, tacos, entrees, desserts, and much more. They are open for lunch (11am-4pm) and dinner (5pm-close) daily and Sunday brunch (10am-2pm). They also offer a wine list, beer, cocktails, and frozen margaritas.
Get your reservations at Sea Capitán Cocina Costera HERE.

120 Speed Humps to Be Installed Around Kansas City
The Kansas City Council has approved a resolution to install at least 120 speed humps in neighborhoods around KCMO before the end of 2025.
My Humps: The city’s Public Works department installed 100 speed humps in 2024, and will expand upon that initiative by bringing at least 120 more to high-priority areas in 2025. These areas were identified through crash data, speeding trends, and resident feedback.
Slow Down: This project is a part of Kansas City’s Vision Zero, and will come at no additional fiscal impact beyond 2025. (all funding is coming from existing resources) Construction on the new speed humps are expected to begin this fall.
A map of the upcoming speed humps and other safety improvement projects can be found HERE.
