Whose Live Anyway? is Coming to the Kauffman Center
The current cast members of the hit TV show Whose Line Is It Anyway will bring their improv tour Whose Live Anyway? to the Kauffman Center on Wednesday, October 29th.
Screen to Stage: Cast members Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Jeff B. Davis, and Joel Murray will take the stage at 7:30pm at the Kauffman Center’s Muriel Kauffman Theatre. All ages are welcome, though some “PG-13” language will be used during the performance.
Points Don’t Matter: The 90-minute improv comedy show features hilarious scenes and songs based entirely on audience suggestions, with cast members inventing witty performances before your eyes. Audience participation is key, and attendees may be invited onstage to join the fun. The show showcases improv games made famous on the long-running TV show plus exciting new ones, with musical direction by Bob Derkach.

One Light Celebrates Ten Years in Downtown Kansas City
Last week, The Cordish Companies and Kansas City Power & Light District celebrated the 10th anniversary of One Light Luxury Apartments in downtown Kansas City.
Downtown Boom: One Light opened in 2015 as downtown's first new construction high-rise apartment tower in 50 years, catalyzing a decade of remarkable growth. Since then, downtown Kansas City has added nearly 8,000 residential units, growing from 23,483 residents to over 33,000. The transformation includes more than $10 billion in public and private investment over 17 years, featuring 15,795 new residential units, 6,000 new or renovated hotel rooms, and the KC Streetcar line.
One Light, Ten Years: One Light celebrated the its 10th anniversary by unveiling a $3 million reinvestment and renovation. The renovations include updated lobby spaces, enhanced amenity floors with co-working spaces, a refreshed demonstration kitchen, modernized theater and social rooms, and completely refreshed residential corridors throughout the 307-unit building.

Kansas City’s First Canna-Culinary Pop-Up Series Coming in November
Missouri-based dispensary SWADE Cannabis is bringing its acclaimed canna-culinary pop-up dinner series Best Buds: Toasted Harvest to Kansas City for the first time.
Best Buds: The series debuts with an infused barbecue lunch at Night Goat Barbecue inside Fox and Pearl on November 8, featuring Chef Vaughn Good's craft barbecue with infused housemade sauces, mocktails, and cannabis-infused "cocktails". The second event offers a family-style infused dinner at The Westside Local on November 17, with Chef Julio Ventura's thoughtful menu including gluten-friendly, vegetarian, and vegan options
Eat Your Greens: Both experiences will use High Five's STiRiBLES, curated by local chefs to create elevated dining that celebrates cannabis alongside food, marking the first cannabis-infused dining series in Kansas City.

🦫 Breaking for Buc-ee: Last Thursday, crews officially broke ground on Buc-ee’s in KCK. The 74,000-square-foot gas station expects to be open by October 2027.
🤲 Downtown Hospitality: The Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC) will host its 2025 Annual Meeting on October 30th at the KC Convention Center. Will Guidara, author of the bestselling book Unreasonable Hospitality, will be the keynote speaker.
🍖 Back to Its Bones: KCK’s Woodyard Bar-B-Que is back under old management. Owners and Father-son duo Frank Schloegel III and Frank Schloegel IV are taking over operations to return the restaurant to its former glory.
🥪 Hot Sandwiches: According to data from Yelp, Bay Boy Specialty Sandwiches was named the second-most popular restaurant in Missouri during the month of October.
