The Royals Kick Off the 2025 Season with Opening Day at the K!

It’s time to play ball! The Royals kick off the 2025 season today with Opening Day at the K.

  • Boys are Back: The Royals welcome the Cleveland Guardians to Kauffman Stadium today, with the first pitch scheduled for 3:10 pm. The Royals look to build off last year’s momentous turnaround when they finished with an 86-76 record and a trip to the ALDS. The team went 56-106 in 2023.

  • Day One Home Run: Opening Day Ceremonies begin at 2:30 and will include an introduction to the 2025 team, an American flag ceremony and A-10 flyover from Whiteman Air Force Base, and a National Anthem performance by Branson, Missouri’s most popular act, “The Haygoods”.

Although the game is officially sold out, resale tickets are still available HERE.

Tiki Taco to Open New Location in Downtown Shawnee

  • Taco In, Taco Out: Tiki Taco will open at 11200 Johnson Drive, replacing Al Chile Taco Shop, which closed on February 1st. This will be Tiki Taco’s fifth metro location, joining Troost Ave, 39th St., downtown Overland Park, and Olathe (opening in early May).

  • Taco Watch: The neighborhood taco joint has quickly become a local favorite and was recently named a 2025 “fast casual brand to watch” by fastcasual.com. The menu includes chips & dips, tacos, burritos, desserts, and a full bar menu.
