HBO Lands Comedy Show Based in Kansas City

Kaley Cuoco/IG

HBO has landed a high-profile comedy package featuring Kaley Cuoco, entitled Kansas City Star.

  • KC Comedy: The 30-minute comedy series is headlined and produced by The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco. She has teamed up with executive producers Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, and Jen Statsky, who also produced HBO Max’s Hacks.

  • Coming Home: According to the show’s IMDB page, the plot of Kansas City Star is about “a semi-famous actress who returns to her hometown to work with a regional theater troupe.” There are no details on a release date, but the show is expected to get a series order.

According to the Kansas City Star, Kansas City Star has nothing to do with the Kansas City Star. (Got that?)
