Fox and Pearl

Happy Monday, Kansas City! After 2 years of operating inside of Fox and Pearl, Night Goat BBQ is getting its own location… in the basement of Fox and Pearl!

  • Moving Out: For the past 2 years, Fox and Pearl would turn into Night Goat Barbecue. Now, Chef Vaughn Good will open the Night Goat Tavern in the basement space of Fox and Pearl.

  • Into My Parents Basement: Night Goat Tavern will be a dive bar with a “tavern-y feel”. The tavern will not occupy Fox and Pearl’s downstairs lounge via the spiral staircase, but a separate area accessible through doors north of the restaurant, at 2139 Summit St.

  • Finely Crafted Meats: Night Goat offers well-crafted BBQ items such as Brisket Tacos, a Biscuit Sandwich with Smoked pork belly, and Bacon Ribs with mustard BBQ sauce.

Night Goat Tavern looks to be open by late spring in 2024. Until then, you can try Night Goat Barbecue inside Fox and Pearl’s downstairs lounge area on Thursdays from 5-10 pm.

Riverside Hitting A High Note

A new large concert venue along the river is set to be completed by the spring of 2025, drawing more attention to the area.

  • Soccer And A Concert: Live Nation, the company that owns concert venues and plays a significant role in the ticketing industry, is placing a new concert venue in Riverside, MO just across the street from CPKC Stadium.

  • On A High Note: The concert venue, which could hold around 15,000 seats, would likely hold 37-40 concerts a year. The Amphitheater comes as the latest move from Riverside as it seeks to make itself a larger attraction for entertainment in the city.

  • The Rich Get Richer: The proposed amphitheater and adjacent parking lot would encompass roughly 125 acres. Live Nation owns over 130 venues across the country in nearly every major metro.

The spring 2025 target for the venue, which would be near Interstate 635 and Horizons Parkway, is strategically placed to grow in time for the 2026 World Cup.

  • The Place To Be: In a study by GO Banking Rates, Kansas City and Olathe were found to be two of the top 25 most affordable and fastest-growing cities in the country based on factors like population growth and cost of living.

  • For Missouri: Kansas City, MO was named #7 on the list thanks to a 6.08% population growth over the past 5 years and a mean home price of $223,152.

  • For Kansas: Olathe cracked the top 25 with the #22 spot. Its population had grown at a rate of 5.76% with a typical home value of $377,959.
