It’s going to be HOT this weekend, but don’t let that stop you from checking out some of the many things going on around the metro this weekend:

  • 🎷 Bird Lives!: Celebrate the life and legacy of Kansas City’s own Charlie “Bird” Parker at the Folly Theater on Saturday evening for the Kansas City Jazz Alive’s Spotlight.

  • 🎡 Go to the Park: Head to downtown Parkville for Parkville Days at English Landing Park. The event runs all weekend and will feature local makers, a carnival, food and drink, helicopter rides, and more.

  • 🍷 Wild Wine: The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium hosts the Wine Walk for Wildlife on Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. Guests can sip on 40 different types of wine while strolling the zoo.

  • 🍻 Tailgate Titles: Chiefs OL Creed Humphrey is teaming up with Boulevard Brewing Co. to host the first-ever Tailgate Championship on Sunday from 12-2 pm.

  • 🎶 Live Music: The 20th annual Crossroads Music Fest takes place this Saturday and Sunday, with 30+ musical performances across seven stages.

  • 🌻 Fun in the Sun: Sunny days mean sunflowers! The KC Pumpkin Patch is hosting weekend #3 of the Sunflower Festival, featuring photo ops, games, food and drink, and a mega slide!

  • 🚗 Revvin’ Up: The 2nd annual Westport Wheels Car Show is Saturday from 11 am - 3 pm. The event is free, and cars will be lined up on Pennsylvania Ave.

  • 🪜 Rooftop Access: Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City is hosting the Rise Rooftop Crawl on Saturday, allowing exclusive access to some of the best private rooftops in the Crossroads.

  • 🧢 Home at the K: The Royals kick off a 3-game home stand against the Philadelphia Phillies tonight at 7:10 pm as they battle for positioning in the AL Central.

Get Lucky at the First Annual Excelsior Springs Irish Festival!

Shamrock Hills Vineyard & Winery

Shamrock Hills Vineyard & Winery is the backdrop for Excelsior Spring's First Annual Irish Festival on Saturday, September 14.

  • Get Lucky: Running from 11 am - 8 pm, the Irish Festival will fill the Shamrock grounds with live music, beer and wine, food trucks, craft vendors, kids activities, and more! Gather your friends and family and join the celebration.

  • Green Logistics: Parking is limited on the grounds, but you can enjoy a free ride on Molly the Trolley from downtown Excelsior Springs. Trolley rides run at 1 pm, 3 pm, and 5 pm, with the last return trip to Excelsior at 8 pm.

Wristbands are $20 each if purchased before Sept. 1st. They will be $25 after that and $30 at the gate. Children 12 and under get in free.
