Plaza Staycation Guide

The Country Club Plaza is a crown jewel in Kansas City. Whenever out-of-town visitors come to KC it’s hard not to recommend spending some time on the Plaza. The history, the architecture, the shopping, the dining, and so much more!

NOTE: This is not an exhaustive list! There are so many great things to do on the Plaza, this is just one itinerary that we would highly recommend to visitors and Kansas Citians alike. Here it is:

🛍️ SHOP

KC Daily

At its core, the Plaza is an outdoor shopping center with 70+ shops to get a little retail therapy. For the perfect Kansas City shopping experience, make sure to stop at Made in KC, Charlie Hustle, and Rally House.

After you’ve shopped till you drop, refresh yourself with a drink at Prime Social. The 16th floor of 46 Penn Centre offers spectacular views of the Plaza, delicious cocktails, and great small bites. Don’t miss the Strawberry Fields with the Buzz Button.

🍽️ Eat

There’s no shortage of restaurants around the Plaza, but our go-to is Gram and Dun. Request a table on the patio for a truly elevated experience, and no matter what you order for dinner, end your meal with a Gram and Dun Bar. You’re welcome.

🛏️ STAY

KC Daily

For a truly charming Plaza stay, get a room at The Raphael Hotel. This luxury boutique hotel was awarded the 2020 Best Historic Hotel award from Historic Hotels Worldwide.

☕️ Breakfast

Before heading home the next morning, walk just south to Banksia Australian Bakehouse & Cafe. Do not miss the Ricotta Hotcakes, one of the best breakfast items in town.
