1587 Prime to Open this Summer in Downtown Kansas City

Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are set to debut their upscale steakhouse, 1587 Prime, in downtown Kansas City this summer.​

• Prime Time: Located inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel, the 10,000-square-foot restaurant will span two floors and feature unique design elements, including a stadium tunnel-inspired entrance and brass floor markers resembling football field yard lines. The dining experience is enhanced with red marbled tabletops, deconstructed football artwork, and a prominent 10-foot-wide refrigerated meat display.

• Champions Eat: 1587 Prime will offer various seating options, such as a central bar, private and semi-private dining rooms, and a VIP entrance. Live music is expected nightly, with a grand piano situated at the base of the main staircase. The restaurant is a collaboration with hospitality group Noble 33, aiming to bring a distinctive dining experience to Kansas City.

Hot Country Nights Are Back at KC Live! in the Power & Light District

KC Live! and the Power & Light District recently announced that Hot Country Nights are back for 2025 beginning Thursday, May 29th.

• Hot & Country: The 2025 Miller Light Hot Country Nights presented by Midwest Ford Dealers returns for another season of unforgettable nights of country music in Power & Light District in downtown KCMO. This season, there will be 13 concerts happening every Thursday night from May 29-August 21.

• On Stage: This year’s lineup features a mix of free and ticketed performances from artists such as Joe Nichols, Lee Brice, Billy Currington, Randy Rogers Band, and more. Gates open at 6 pm every Thursday and admission is restricted to 21+ after 9pm.

Betty Rae’s in Overland Park Opens Today!

Good news for Johnson County ice cream lovers! Betty Rae’s opens TODAY in Overland park in the Shoppes at Deer Creek Woods.

• I Scream, You Scream: The new location will be the sixth in the metro. It will offer Betty Rae’s 26 core flavors, monthly rotation of limited-edition flavors, and other sweet treats. Betty Rae’s is also sold on shelves at local grocers and in their two food trucks available for events and private functions.

• Grand Opening Activities: Starting today at noon, the first 50 guests receive free ice cream (up to two scoops). There will also be free toppings and sauces all day, merch giveaways, and a chance to win free ice cream for a year by signing up for their loyalty program!

Betty Rae’s Overland Park is located at 6936 W. 135th St and will be open noon – 9pm, Sunday – Thursday, and noon – 10pm, Friday – Saturday.

Chewology is a contemporary Taiwanese eatery located in the heart of Westport at 900 Westport Road.

• On The Streets: Led by Chef Katie Liu-Sung, Chewology is a 2x James Beard semifinalist drawing inspiration from Liu-Sung’s Taiwanese heritage and California upbringing. The vibrant space creates a welcoming atmosphere complementing the flavorful cuisine.

• Taste of Taiwan: The menu offers an authentic taste of Taiwanese street food including dishes like Three Cup Mushroom Ramen, Beef & Cumin Dumplings, Gua Bao (pork belly steamed buns), Negi Maki, and so much more. It also offers a curated cocktail program using fresh ingredients.
