Missouri Governor Floats Retractable Roof Over Arrowhead Stadium
Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe floated the idea of a retractable roof over Arrowhead Stadium in a press conference earlier this week.
Raise the Roof: Governor Kehoe suggested adding a retractable roof to Arrowhead Stadium to keep the Chiefs in Missouri, proposing a European-style flexible covering. This follows Jackson County voters rejecting a sales tax extension to help finance an $800 million renovation plan, while Kansas coffers stadium financing to attract the team.
History Repeats: When the Truman Sports Complex was being designed in the 1960s, early plans featured a rolling roof that would cover both Arrowhead and Kauffman Stadium, as well as a Space Needle-like structure with a restaurant on top. Neither plan came to fruition.
Leases for both stadiums at the Truman Sports Complex expire in January 2031.

Community Feedback 📢
This is Nick, operator of KC Daily. I’ve got an idea I’d like your feedback on.
It’s KC Daily Dinner Club — a way for the KC Daily community to meet new folks and explore local restaurants. You’d take a personality quiz, get matched up with a few fellow Kansas Citians who share your interests, and enjoy a meal together at a local restaurant. We could even gather all the groups together after dinner for an afterparty.
Let me know your thoughts! If you like it, I’ll start scheming.
Would you join a Dinner Club? 🍴
