The loudest stadium in the world is now the best stadium in the world! Arrowhead was voted as the best NFL Stadium in the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice award.

  • Red Kingdom: The USA Today 10Best awards are voted on by readers and editors, and the best NFL stadium in 2024 was awarded to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Lumen Field in Seattle came in second, and Empower Field at Mile High in Denver came in third.

  • Best Kingdom: Arrowhead still holds the record for the loudest outdoor stadium in the world, reaching 142.2 decibels against the Patriots in 2014. The world-class tailgating scene and barbecue were also mentioned as factors. Oh, and maybe the fact that we’ve won two straight Super Bowls?

A New Indoor Golf Concept is Coming Soon to Overland Park

GolfTRK

A new indoor golf facility is coming soon near the Bluhawk development in southern Overland Park.

  • Golf Around the Clock: GolfTRK is a premier indoor golf training facility powered by Trackman and PuttView technology. It allows golfers to practice their game year-round indoors and play 150+ world-class golf courses on its simulator.

  • Hole in Two: This will be the second Johnson County location, with the first being located at 11207 Strang Line Rd in Lenexa. The OP location will be able to support 175 members and will be open from 6 am through 12 am daily. GolfTRK does offer 2-hour session passes to non-members.

GolfTRK Overland Park will be located at 7325 W 161st St. and plans to be open later this fall.

Planet Anime Kansas City returns this weekend (10/18-10/20) at the Kansas City Convention Center.

  • Fans, Unite!: The anime-centric, fan-fueled universe is filled with things to do for all types of anime lovers. Cosplay contests, meet-and-greets, panels, exhibitors, gaming lounges, and many more activities are on the schedule.

  • I’m Your Biggest Fan: The convention will host a huge variety of special guests, including voice actors, celebrities, creators, and more. The festivities last late into the night, with hours being Friday from 5 pm - 1 am, Saturday 10 am - 1 am, and Sunday 10 am - 5 pm.

  • On Par: The study analyzed 5.4 million rounds of golf during 2023 to find the average tee time price per state. It did not specify whether the rounds analyzed included private courses, which often don’t offer public tee times to book.

  • Midwest Nice: Kansas was tied for the fifth-most affordable state, with an average tee time price of $36. Missouri was the 17th most affordable, with a cost of $44. The cheapest state was Alaska at $14/round, and the most expensive was Nevada at $143/round.
