Seeing Green in the Red Kingdom: What Are the Chiefs Worth?
For the first time in franchise history, the Kansas City Chiefs are valued at over $5 billion, according to Sportico.
Lots of Zeros: The Chiefs’ valuation is $5.43 billion, up 20% from last year. Despite back-to-back Super Bowls and international superstar players like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, the team still only ranks No. 18 out of 32 NFL teams.
Seeing Green: With the franchise being such an important asset to the local economy, it’s no wonder there is a competition between Kansas and Missouri to provide a future home for the Chiefs. In fact, it was just announced that Jackson County voters will see a Chiefs-only sales tax question on the November ballot.
For those wondering, the Dallas Cowboys top the list with a 2024 valuation of $10.32 billion. 💰

Demolition Begins to Transform Hillcrest Golf Club
Demolition is underway as Hillcrest Golf Club in southeast Kansas City prepares for a $30 million renovation.
Welcome to the Club: The 157-acre site is owned by 635 Holdings LLC, led by Sporting Kansas City co-owner Robb Heineman. Demolition began last month to convert the course into a private club.
Long Drive & Long History: Hillcrest Golf Club opened in 1916, and is now Missouri’s only remaining course designed by renowned golf architect Donald Ross. Heineman says that after the renovations, the goal is for Hillcrest to be a “top 100 golf course in the country”.
The course hopes to have a grand reopening in the spring of 2026.
