A Membership-Based Cocktail Bar is Coming to the Crossroads
In Good Company, a new venue in Kansas City’s East Crossroads, offers a refined alternative to the traditional cocktail club scene.
Join the Club: Co-owners Daniel Edwards and Cedric Ransburg designed the space to focus on a relaxed and mature atmosphere. Although currently open to the public, the venue will transition to a membership model in March, with fees starting at $50 per month which includes four drink credits and guest privileges.
Crossroads Vibes: With Ransburg’s 15 years of hospitality experience and Edwards’ background in architectural engineering and business, they aim to create a welcoming space centered on good drinks, good people, and good vibes.

Former Southwest High School in Brookside Could Become a New Middle School
The former Southwest High School building at 6512 Wornall Road in Brookside could soon become South Middle School.
High ➡️ Middle: The $45.1 million project would convert the now unused building into South Middle School, allowing KCPS to transition to 6-8th grade neighborhood middle schools. Major renovation would include updating classrooms/learning environments and an addition on the south side of the building.
Middle School Heroes: The project would be funded by the 2025 GO Bond and other sources before it begins. Southwest High School officially ceased all operations at the building in 2016, and the outdoor track & field area has become an unofficial dog park for Brookside residents.
The bond project is pending voter approval on April 8th.
