Ford Media
With the tentative deal between Ford and the UAW being struck, Kansas City could see an additional $70.4 Million in economic development.
KC Windfall: The UAW strike that has dominated national headlines may be coming to a close, and Kansas City’s Ford plant workers could see a massive bump in salary.
Show-Me The Money: In 2019, Ford employees in KC were making an average of $19.65 per hour. With the new increase, Ford employees will make 25% more per hour on average with top earners close to $40/hour.
Food And Drink: While the employees in KC have not been on strike, the plant has remained idle due to a supply chain shortage.
The UAW-Ford deal should be drawing to a conclusion in the next few days with the bumps in pay being spread out over the next 4 years.

The New Drinking Games

Bar & Rec KC
Brett Allred, who already owns three bars in Westport, is opening his fourth bar tonight, Bar Rec.
Playin Games: Bar Rec is a game bar that will feature over 50 free games including classic arcade games like Galaga and Pac-man, as well as Shuffleboard, Pop-a-shot, and Skeeball.
Been Around The Block: Allred already knows how to run a successful bar. He currently owns three other Westport bars- Lotus, Bridger’s, and Johnny Kaw’s Yard Bar.
So Much Room For Activities: Bar Rec will replace three former establishments, Shot Stop, Murray’s Ice Cream & Cookies, and Imperial Foot Care. The massive location was a renovation overhaul where Allred knocked down walls dividing the stores to create more space.
Bar Rec, located at 4120 Pennsylvania Ave, will open at 5 pm on weekdays and 11 am on weekends. Its tavern license allows it to stay open until 1:30 am.
