Town Topic Named Among 25 Best Diners in America
Kansas City staple Town Topic was recently named one of the 25 Best Diners in America by Huckberry.
Single or Double?: Town Topic has called Kansas City home since 1937, when Claude Sparks started selling hamburgers for $0.05 at 2442 Broadway. The tiny diner has stood the test of time, with two Crossroads locations still open today: 2021 Broadway (24/7) and 1900 Baltimore Ave.
American History: Huckberry’s Journal offers guides to lifestyle content, food & drink, adventures, and wellness from across the globe. Although they mention that Town Topic has three locations when it actually has only two (the Mission location closed in 2020), it’s still fun to see an iconic piece of KC history named among the country’s best diners.

Redefine the Sauna Experience at Perspire + Giveaway!
Wellness is personal, and Perspire Leawood is leaning into that shift by redefining what an infrared sauna session can feel like.
Bring the Heat: Rather than a one-temperature-fits-all approach, sessions are customized by pre-setting heat levels, red light therapy, and chromotherapy lighting to align with individual wellness goals—from pain relief and recovery to deep relaxation and mental clarity.
Let Me See Your Halo: Perspire guests leave feeling lighter, calmer, and deeply restored, often describing the experience as a full-body reset rather than just a sweat. The studio is also introducing Halo Therapy, a new add-on designed to support respiratory wellness and enhance overall relaxation.
Perspire Leawood is offering an exclusive giveaway for KC Daily readers! Two lucky winners will receive a $100 gift card and two complimentary Halotherapy add-ons. Complete this form by February 18th for your chance to win!

Opening
Brooksider to Open Second Location In Leawood
From Brookside to Leawood, with love. Brooksider Sportsbar & Grill will open a second metro location in Town Center.
Leawood-er: Brooksider will open at 5001 Town Center Drive in the former Hereford House space, which closed in 2024. The restaurant & bar has called Brookside home for 40 years, but will now expand operations to Kansas. It will serve the same food and drink as the original location.
We Like Sports: According to father-son owners Chuck and Jack Naylor, they are in the process of gutting the building. They will replace the steakhouse vibe with a sports bar vibe, with an event space upstairs. The menu features classic American fare like wings, pizza, sandwiches, burgers, draft beer, and cocktails.
Brooksider Leawood expects a fall opening, pending city inspections.
