A New Cocktail Lounge is Now Open in the Crossroads
Songbird, a new cocktail lounge within the walls of Corvino in the Crossroads District, is now open!
One Door Closes: After announcing this summer that the tasting room at Corvino would close, the restaurant said that a cocktail lounge would take its place. Songbird is now open and accepting walk-ins (no reservations) Thursday-Monday starting at 5 pm.
Sippin’ at Songbird: The menu from the award-winning team features savory, strong, and bubbly cocktails, as well as a small low-and-no alcohol menu. Songbird also offers small plates such as Jura cheese, chicken-fried snails, raclette & gruyère grilled cheese, and more.

Mother and Son Duo Serving Up Authentic Turkish Food Around Kansas City
KC Doner, a Mother and Son duo, is bringing authentic Turkish food to pop-ups around Kansas City.
Family Affair: Sami Jenedi and his mother, Nesrin, are the hands behind KC Doner and are working together to bring an authentic taste of Turkey to the Kansas City area. They serve dishes such as doner kabobs, kisir, red lentil balls, as well as a Turkey Doner Wrap, which was recently named one of 11 sandwiches to try by the Kansas City Magazine.
Home Cooked: KC Doner can most often be found at the Lenexa Public Market, including Thursday-Friday of this week from 11 am to 8 pm. They also frequent breweries around the metro, with the schedule being released via their Instagram page.

Historic William Rockhill Nelson Clubhouse Hits the Market
Local developer and real estate agent Johnny Youssef recently completed a top-to-bottom renovation of the historic William Rockhill Nelson Clubhouse.
Own History: Youssef and his wife, Abby, purchased the historic home in 2023 and spent 15 months renovating the home built in 1910 for Kansas City icon William Rockhill Nelson. Youssef documented much of the journey on his Instagram and TikTok channels, which included theft, vandalism, and a car crash on the property.
The Specs: The 6,846-square-foot house sits directly to the east of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and features 6 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and 6 fireplaces. The renovation includes modern amenities like a brand-new chef’s kitchen and new electrical/plumbing/HVAC while maintaining much of the home’s original charm.
