Snow Kidding?

The record-breaking snowfall is in the rear-view mirror (knock on wood).

Kansas City Sees Record-Breaking Snowfall ❄️

@sammiemedia_

Kansas City saw record-breaking snowfall this past weekend, which led to some epic photos and some sore backs from shoveling.

  • Snow Kidding?: The Kansas City International Airport, which serves as the city’s official weather-reporting site, recorded 11 inches of snow on Sunday. It was the fourth-largest single-day snowfall in KC history and only the eighth time since 1888 with over 10 inches during a single day.

  • Bundle Up: Just because the snowfall is in the rear-view mirror doesn’t mean that the weather will now cooperate. Today’s high is only 21°, and temperatures won’t be above freezing (32°) until Sunday, January 12th.

We turned to comedy to deal with the back-breaking work of shoveling. Check out our “shoveling dads” video on Instagram!

Oil on Linen Offers Artful Dining at The Kemper Museum

Oil on Linen/Anna Petrow

In November, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art announced a new concept for its museum cafe: Oil on Linen.

  • Dine Like an Artist: The restaurant was formerly known as Café Sebastienne, but the recent redesign brought a new chef partner, a new menu, new art, and a new name. Chef Ted Habiger, also the chef & owner of Kansas City’s Room 39, took over the kitchen in July.

  • Inspired Menu: Oil on Linen is open 10-3 Wednesday through Sunday and only offers dinner service on Thursday nights from 4:30-9 pm. Dinners consist of a prix-fixe menu by Chef Habiger, which often reflects art on display throughout the museum and restaurant.

Oil on Linen is participating in KC Restaurant Week! Get your reservations HERE.
