Kansas City to Host the 2024 NWSL Championship
CPKC Stadium
It was announced last week that CPKC Stadium will host the 2024 NWSL Championship on Saturday, November 23rd.
Soccer Capital, USA: With CPKC Stadium being the first stadium purpose-built for a women’s professional team, and Kansas City being the self-proclaimed “Soccer Capital of America”, the announcement seems like a no-brainer. The 11,500-seat stadium has set a new standard for facilities across women’s sports.
Home Pitch Advantage?: Kansas City fans have their fingers crossed that the NWSL Championship is a bonus home match for the Current. Although suffering their first defeat of the season this past weekend, they still sit in second place in the NWSL standings.
The NWSL playoffs begin with the quarterfinal round the weekend of November 9-10.

Overland Park Approves Plan to Improve Farmers Market
City of Overland Park
Last week, Overland Park city officials approved a $33.9 million project to improve the downtown farmers market and gathering space.
Market Improvements: The Overland Park Farmers Market is one of the metro’s most popular, and the planned improvements will create an indoor market space, add shade and ground slope to the existing outdoor space, add utility access for vendors, increase access to restrooms, and more.
Pardon Our Mess: The project is expected to begin this winter after the 2024 season concludes. The 2025 season will be held outside the Matt Ross Community Center while construction takes place at the current location.
The project is expected to be finished by the Spring of 2026. See all the renderings of the new market HERE!
