Student-Built Playhouses Are Up for Auction at Union Station This Weekend
The annual Parade of Playhouses is back in Union Station's Haverty Family Yards through this Sunday.
Pick Your Playhouse: Area high school students in construction and manufacturing programs built all 13 of this year's playhouses, which include a Firehouse Adventure Station, Storybook Cottage, Tiny Timber Cabin, Ice Cream Express, and more. The display is free and open to the public during regular Science City hours outside in the Haverty Family Yards.
Future Builders: The Parade of Playhouses is a part of "Foundations for the Future Week," presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City. All 13 playhouses are available to purchase at auction, with proceeds directly benefitting Science City.
The auction closes this Sunday, April 12th, at 5pm. Place your bid now!

A Phone-Free Micro Bathhouse is Coming to the East Crossroads
180° Bathhouse, a communal micro bathhouse concept, is set to open in August inside the Holtman Building at 708 E. 18th St. in the East Crossroads.
Warm Welcome: Rather than the typical one- or two-person infrared setups, 180° is built around a large-format sauna accommodating 35 to 40 people at once, paired with cold plunges, communal areas, and guided programming. The environment will be phone-free, with guests encouraged to unplug and unwind.
Health-Focused: Founder Kyle Steppe and co-founder Carrie Bacon are working to close a $600,000 funding round by May before moving into construction. Sessions are expected to start at $39, with bundled passes available at discounted rates.
