A New Look at van Gogh is Coming to the Nelson-Atkins in 2028
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art just announced three major exhibitions for 2027 and 2028, headlined by a brand-new look at Vincent van Gogh.
Starry Nights Ahead: From May 20th-September 4th, 2028, an original Nelson-Atkins exhibition will explore how Van Gogh and his friends drew inspiration from Medieval and early Renaissance art. Expect major works by Van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Georges Seurat, and Émile Bernard, some of which haven’t been in the U.S. in more than 20 years.
Picture This: First up is Photography & Abolition (May 8th-September 5th, 2027), with 200+ works including portraits of Frederick Douglass and Sojourner Truth, plus the first-ever display of a rare daguerreotype. Then KC is the first stop for French Connections: Masterpieces from Centre Pompidou (November 13th, 2027-February 27th, 2028), featuring nearly 100 works, many never before seen in the U.S.
General admission to the Nelson-Atkins is always free. Plan your visit HERE.

Hudson & Jane in the Crestwood Shops Gets New Neighborhood Owners
Hudson & Jane, the men’s clothing shop in the Crestwood Shops, has new owners: longtime neighbors John and Sarah Jane Stevenson.
Suited for Service: The Stevensons purchased the shop from FloAnn Brehm, whose husband Rick founded Hudson & Jane and passed away in May. Before opening the store, Rick ran KC’s Polo Ralph Lauren franchise. The shop has been a Crestwood fixture since 2008, known for fine menswear, personal service, and genuine hospitality.
Right Around the Corner: The couple has lived in Crestwood for 20 years, just a block from the store. Sarah Jane, who spent the last two years at Johnny Was on the Plaza, will run the shop day to day. John, who owns a local marketing firm, will help behind the scenes. They plan to carry on the shop’s traditions while adding some new lines to the mix.
Hudson & Jane is located at 313 E. 55th St. Stop by and welcome the new neighbors!
