The KC Sunflower Festival is Blooming Now!
The end of summer may be right around the corner, but the silver âgoldenâ lining is its prime sunflower season at the KC Sunflower Festival!
Sunflower Season: The festival at the KC Pumpkin Patch (13875 S. Gardner Road) officially kicked off this past weekend but continues Aug. 16-18 and Aug. 23-25. This is the only time youâll be able to get in the fields to get up close and personal with the Kansas state flower!
Flowers and More: Not a flower person? No problem. The festival also features a variety of outdoor games, a mega slide, food and drink, and wine slushies. Festival hours are 4-8 pm on Fridays and 10-6 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Feels Like â15: The Royalsâ record currently sits at 65-54, good for third place in the AL Central and holding the final AL Wild Card spot. Perhaps the most impressive part of this season is the turnaround from last season when they went 56-105, tied for the worst record in franchise history.
Division Showdown: The Royals kicked off a massive series against the Minnesota Twins last night, who currently hold a 1.5-game lead in both the division and Wild Card race after a Twins 8-3 victory.
The Royals return to the K on Monday, August 19th to take on the Los Angeles Angels.
