Chiefs Officials Discuss the Potential of a Super Bowl in Kansas City

Manica Architecture

Could Kansas City ever host a Super Bowl? Chiefs officials say yes, but there’s a catch.

  • Continued Talks: On Monday, Chiefs officials met at NFL meetings in Florida and revealed that the team hopes to have a stadium plan announcement this summer. Two likely options have been presented: a roughly $1B renovation to Arrowhead Stadium or a roughly $3B stadium in Kansas.

  • Super Bowl Dreams: According to Chiefs President Mark Donovan, a new stadium in Kansas would be the potential to bring massive events to the metro such as a Final Four, major concerts, and even a Super Bowl. A Super Bowl is the most popular annual event in the world, and a domed stadium in Kansas could bring such an event to the relatively small market of KC.
