Slow Rise Sets Soft Opening Schedule in Overland Park
Slow Rise has softly opened at its new (and first) brick-and-mortar location in Overland Park, serving its wildly popular sourdough doughnuts.
Soft & Sour: The storefront is located at 11228 W. 135th St. and, as of now, is open every Saturday at 9am until sell-out. Menus will be posted on their social media channels, and we recommend arriving early. The storefront also offers an automated coffee bar.
Holy Flavors: What started as a pop-up at local farmers’ markets has grown into one of Kansas City’s most popular treat destinations. Founder Jessica Dunkel is a trained food scientist who has crafted sweet and savory doughnuts like Sweet Corn & Elote (pictured above), Sweet Potato Creme Brulee, Peaches & Honey Yogurt, and many more.
Slow Rise expects to be fully open by springtime. Stay up to date HERE.

Can’t See It, Can’t Smell It: Test Your Home for Radon!
Radon is one of those home issues you never see…until it matters. And Rhino Metrics KC is here to keep your home safe this season.
Bad Gas: Radon is a radioactive gas you can’t smell, common in the Kansas City area. It’s the second leading cause of lung cancer, contributing to about 21,000 deaths each year in the U.S. The only way to know your home’s radon level is to test for it, which the EPA recommends doing every two years. Even if you’ve tested before, levels can change with seasons, renovations, and soil conditions.
Local Solution: That’s where Rhino Metrics KC comes in. They’re a local, nationally-certified radon testing company using lab-calibrated monitors and easy-to-read reports, whether you’re settling into a home or staying put long-term.
KC Daily readers get 20% off testing. Just mention KC Daily when booking!
